About Trees

Last year as before I joined with the Devon Open Studios and exhibited in the pleasant Fingle Bridge Inn next to the river Teign.

This was the second part in my trilogy of the beautiful Teign gorge, the year before it was the River Teign and this time its About Trees. In 2013 the National Trust and Woodland trust jointly purchased nearly 900 acres of woodland sprawling across the Teign gorge. The plan is to slowly turn it back into natural woodland with safe habitats for the wildlife and to allow the public access to enjoy the exquisite landscape. Using photography, I am working with them to promote awareness of the need for healthy conservation. Although the gorge is in the Dartmoor national park it is like many other beauty spots under pressure from farming, forestry, tourism etc and i feel like bits of our natural world get eroded every year. Throughout history there has always been a need for artists,writers and thinkers to get involved with the business of preservation of the planets wilderness. So i am taking you on a tour of the stunning vistas and mysterious corners the trees give in the woodlands of the Teign gorge.
